So … I was invited to compete in the J/70 World Championship again* – 100th entry to fill the last slot – at the 11th nay 12th hour, this year in … Monaco! What an incredible opportunity and experience.
* You have to qualify to sail in a World Championship, but at the last minute there will be people who can’t go, and opportunities for those who can…

As you will read in the posts linked below, it was a strange regatta; four days of not-enough-wind-to-race* followed by a one-day three-race series for all the marbles.
* the no-wind days did provide some cool tourist-ing opportunities 🙂
My team and I overperformed amazingly and we finished 28th overall! – and 3rd in the “one pro” division (most of the teams had multiple pros).
