On to the Netherlands

And so it was on to the Netherlands for a delightful couple of days of shopping, visiting with family, and tourist-ing.

Lisbon! – but only from the air, and for a brief stoppover … I must be back

I no sooner landed than it was off on a mission to my hometown of Vlaardingen, to the Jan Boer bakery, to get some Izerkoekjes. I could not visit my family nor come home without them.

there it is
and there they are … or were, I should say 🙂
the old fish market in Vlaardingen, in the inner harbor
the inner harbor itself, same as it ever was
as always, love all the cute drawbridges in the Netherlands
as well as the cute windmills
not all the windmills are cute and old, either
dinner with the family!

Ijzerkoektjes secured, it was off to Putten for a nice dinner with my family. I have a ton of relatives in the Netherlands and every time I’m in Europe I try to swing by and say hello. This time it had been a while, because of Covid…

not in Spain, nor Portugal neither

And then back to Amsterdam! Yay.

so beautiful and peaceful
what can I say
the oude kerk, aka “old church”; well they are all old, but this one is the oldest

A busy day – whew (and yawn) – good night…
